Away from the tackiness of pier 39 this is more like the real San Francisco. What a great place to visit literally is full of colour and colourful people. Get yourselves up there

Growing up in the sixties and seventies, we could not pass up hopping off of the tour bus at Haight-Ashbury. Yes, there are still hippies sitting on the sidewalk and I'm pretty sure some of them never moved since the sixties. Such a cool little...More

It's a nice street to visit with plenty of quaint shops. Plenty of shopping to do but it can get quite expensive with the more established shops. Plenty to eat as well and a recommendation would be to eat at the Cuban restaurant. Its always...More

This neighborhood has always been of interest to me, so naturally I had to visit while in San Francisco. The buildings on Haight Street still have many "hippie" shops. They are very interesting to look at, and are definitely remnants of the Summer of Love....More

I thoroughly enjoyed my time discovering and browsing the streets here. The shops were unique and diverse. This girl of the 70's felt as though she was reliving some of her childhood. I

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and
Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of
the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage
clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops.
While the Summer of Love ended decades ago,
Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of
hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through
its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.

From SFO search shuttle services to the city. It's a shared taxi/van. Easy & convenient from the airport. If you're driving , use waze or maps. Otherwise take Uber or Lyft so easy, quick & efficient to anywhere in san Fran
