One day it rained and we decided it was a good time to check out the Oceanarium. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the place. The people working there are dedicated to the advancement of lobster husbandry. I came away with a great appreciation for lobsters and their propagation. I learned how successful the lobster industry in... More

You get a lot of material presented but it took a lot of time. Presenters were very knowledgeable, locals. You gained some insight as to how lobsters are raised. They have the only lobster farm in America. I can now appreciate why Lobster costs as much a it does.

We wanted to learn more about lobster while in Bar Harbor. Glad we found this place! The staff will take you on a prigression ftom from baby eggs to eating lobster. This is a private organization. Your tour fees help them propagate the species! YUM!

We visited after reading about this facility's conservation efforts. It is the only lobster hatchery in the country. Their goal is to help increase the lobster population in Maine. We had previously known almost nothing about the life cycle of the lobster, and came away with a much-improved understanding. The tour was divided into 3 parts: --interactive session with a... More

This place is important because of the rare chance to impact the lobster industry in a positive way. Your fee will support their efforts to restock lobsters into our ocean.

We stopped here on our way out of Mt Desert Island. The kids enjoyed the tanks and touching the lobsters. The information about lobsters was interesting and getting to see the little lobsters was cool. Plus there is a blue lobster. This is a good cause and thing they are doing.
