Took this tour the first day of getting to Bar Harbor. Our guide was very informative. Definitely would recommend first timers to get the history of Acadia.

Our return visit this year, we decided to keep the rental car parked and with a short walk to the shuttle stop, we had easy transportation to Acadia. The return shuttle was equally easy and always room for all to have a seat.

We have used the Island Explorer 3 round trips from Bar Harbor to Acadia now with no problems. Traffic was terrible in the park today and more people could have been on our buses. The bus was perfect for walking one way from Sand Beach...More

We used the Island Explorer for the entire time we spent at Bar Harbor. Convenient schedule (even at night) - brings you (and your bike!) to the park, restaurants, etc.

Leave the car at the hotel - or at one end of the trail you want to hike or bike - and take the explorer back at the end. Well organized to cater to hikers and bikers as well as vacationers just wanting a day...More

Sorry about your experience at Otter Cliffs. Not knowing the time and day of your issue it's hard to tell what happened. Perhaps there was a mechanical issue that caused a delay but I'm not sure. Hopefully the rest of your two days on Island...More

The island explorer bus is free and good to use if you don't want to drive the entire park loop road. You can hop on and hop off at many locations. Drivers are very helpful in giving directions and information. FYI...busses do NOT go up...More

These buses heavily sponsored by LL Bean are great. They travel a wide variety of routes and allow visitors a great way to see Acadia without dealing with the traffic and parking. Well Done!

This person is obviously not writing about Island Explorer. Island Explorer does not service the summit of Cadillac Mountain though we agree it is spectacular!

Our policy is as follows: Well behaved leashed or crated pets are welcome on buses but not on the seats (not on your lap on the seats). We have zero tolerance of ill-behaved pets. Paul Murphy Executive Ditector
