There's just so much history in this place...not only ancient history from several hundred years ago under Spanish rule, but to WWII and to a visit by Pope John Paul II. Worth a visit!

I love it there... it was recently restored a few years ago by a local contractor. They did a great job. Definitely worth checking this place out when you're touring the Hagatna area.

We did a group walk through. We had a former National park ranger give us an I overview, but that was more than adequate.

We spent very little time here as it was full of bus loads of tourists. There are some historical relics and a few informational plaques to read.

This is beside The Cathedral and can part of the Agana tour. Nothing really special but historical wise it is.

The Plaza de Espana is a must see in Hagatna. In the heart of the city, it has the ruins of the Governor's Palace, nice gardens, a Chocolate House, and a bandstand. You can read the signs to learn about its historical significance.

I went after a couple drinks at the nearby Mermaid Tavern and Grille (great beer!), and was weirded out by all the Pokemon Go players lounging around. It seems like an interesting historical place, just... too many locals, I guess?

The Plaza de espana has memories of war with Japanese. The government kept the walls, clean. Nice to see the location on a visit. Many local and military families cone here for picture taking session. It has a nice background. Nearby a Catholic Church and...More
