We stayed in Makaha and decided to drive through the Beach Park. It is truly a shame that such a gorgeous place is marred with homeless people, junk cars, and tents on the beach. Really spoiled our entire trip. Get this cleaned up and moved...More

We have lived here for a year and a half and have finally made it here, I would recommend this to anyone who wants some nice fine sand and a great place to spend the afternoon!

Crystal clear water, yellow sand, no currents/rips, no throngs of tourists, a nice beginner to intermediate-friendly wave for surfers (on the day I was there) on the northern end of the beach, ample parking where your car is in view. This beach gets a big...More

Beautiful crystal clear water, beautiful sand, water was the perfect temp. It was march so the waves were great for surfing, tough for floating around, but I was able to take quick dips between sets and hubs (an avid swimmer) had fun in the push/pull...More

Most people who come to Oahu never get this far west of Honolulu but it's worth the drive and the traffic. There is a larger homeless population out this way but they don't bother you if you don't bother them. Come out and watch the...More

We stayed in this area, so we wanted to check out the nearby beach. This beach-park was really nice and well maintained. It does have a lifeguard on duty, but it was not recommended to swim on the day we were there, due to a...More

As a resident (granted Kama Aina status by businesses, but recognizing I am not truly of the land here) ... we Haole have been warned to never go to certain places. Waianae being one. Is it as unfriendly as I've been warned? Or could I go there with kokua and aloha, and expect the same in return????

We were not mistreated or bothered while we were there, and we kept to ourselves at the far end of the beach, where it was not very crowded. I don't tend to think about or notice "colors or races" of people, but looking... More
