The snorkelling here is fantastic. You can hire gear right across the road - including umbrellas ect. When finished make sure you check out the many food trucks - walk around, as there are more at the back and sides that you may not see at first. The shrimp (prawn) plates are very good at $13:95 each.

Our family couldn't have had more fun snorkling and playing in the water here last week. We had 2 kids who had never snorkled before this vacation with us and it was great for them, but also really fun for people who are more experienced, because of how unique the surrounds are. Lots of variety of fish even though it's... More

We stumbled upon this place and found it one of our highlights of the Noth Shore. On the right day and tide it is absolutely beautiful. However with the wrong tide and winds it may not look as appealing. It is worth it to try and get an incoming higher tide for the clear water.

Even if you aren't planning on spending time at the beach, stop here and take some pictures and wade in the pools. Too cool and great colors.

Wanting to enjoy our last night on the beach and enjoy sunset we pulled in here following the strewn of cars along the wall. We found a spot, took the time to walk down and were able to enjoy the last night here. Next time we will come early to snorkel in the cove!

The wave watching is tremendous here. There is also a little cove that is protected by a reef and a good snorkeling spot. When there are big waves they crash over the reef into the cove. There are trees for shade and little pools of water in the rocks. It is a beautiful spot.

We were here in winter so swimming in the surf was a no go on the north shore. We did however find this little piece of paradise and loved being able to swim in this protective little cove and explore the tide pools and watch the fish swim around. There are also yummy food trucks across the road!

We really enjoyed this spot. Not much of a beach for swimming but we enjoyed seeing a monk seal and tiny crabs! The scenery was amazing! We will come back again.

We were here in the winter so this beach offered us some good protective shallows for our 4 year old. Great fun to watch the huge waves pound the reef and rocks filling the lagoon with white water. And those food trucks across the road - fantastic, we tried several of them and each one offers delicious food.

Pupukea Beach is a beautiful little beach with both grass and sandy areas for laying out your towels. The beach is protected by a reef of rocks, which makes it nice for snorkeling, however, there are also rocks and coral in the water to contend with. They do recommend wearing swim shoes (which we didn't have). Despite this, my kids... More
