Don't forget your umbrella/rain gear. This area is one of the wettest places on earth. Beautiful park to reflect on history and cost to Hawaiian inhabitants and immigrants. Paved paths for short walks. Covered shelters for picnics with grills. Free parking and entrance.

In the Kepaniwai Park and Heritage Gardens there are gardens and pavilions representant the various ethnic groups that have come to Hawaii from overseas. Very beautifully done. There is also a place with roofed picnic tables. Nice and clean restrooms.

I went to this park, just after it reopened due to storm damage. It had been closed for a while and I would have thought the parks commission would use that time to really fix this place up. NOT. The pond area, DISGUSTING. Trees growing...More
