This fairly short trail is worth checking out. It is about 1.6 miles from the start to the end, but is not a loop. We did not complete the whole length of the trail because we were in a rush, but completed the part that follows the coastline, which is definitely picturesque. Part of the trail is an actual sidewalk,... More

An easy hike, but one with beautiful views...continue on to see Dragon's Teeth. An incredible walk over lava on many shapes & textures. Sit on a rock to watch the whales while they are in the area. You can make this hike as long or short as you want. Parking is at a premium.

We've been here a week now and hiked the trails almost every day. Watching the whales, dolphins and turtles and the sunsets. Had one stormy day but it brought out the beautiful rainbows!!

The trail is easy to follow until the Kapalua area (around golf course). I enjoyed walking alongthe coast, watching the whales, looking for rainbows, watching waves crash and churn on the rocks and watching surfers at Oneloa Beach. Another highlight is walking to Makalua-puna Point to observe the dragons teeth formations in the lava. There's also an ancient Hawaiian burial... More

Get there early or you will have parking problems. It is worth it though. Towards the start of the walk there is a volcanic outcrop that I highly recommend exploring. The waves against the rocks feel really prehistoric, like something you would see in a movie, with fantastic vistas. There is a lot of variety on this walk but leave... More

Wanted to hike without a guide and this trail fits well. Easy to find access but parking is an issue so go early. Lot of the trail is paved but some is through lava fields so watch footing. Wear sunscreen and carry water. Don't forget to stop and enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

Easy hike for families with stunning seascapes that take you to a cliff jumping spot along the trail. Dogs are restricted due to seabird nesting sites.

The hike covers a lot of cool ground. You get some amazing coastal views. Only drawback is that the hike isn't so rustic, as parts of it are on boardwalk and areas owned by the area hotels.

This trail starts from the kapalua beach. Finding the parking lot can be tough as kapalua beach is famous for people snorkelling. We were staying at a nearby hotel so we just walked to the trail. The view is amazing whether you go there in the morning, afternoon or evening (sunset). If you are staying nearby, highly recommend walking on... More
