nice. We watch the whales breach off shore in January.
Clean. Sand is a little coarse but nice. Beach is a little narrow in some areas but OK. Lots of smooth rocks in the water so go slow entering the ocean.

Expansive white sand beach, beware of rip currents, etc. as it can get rough. One hotel did post red flag warnings but most did not. Didn't see any lifeguards when I was walking the beach so you need to exercise caution as with the steep drop off it is easy to get sucked out to sea.

Warnings aside it was a nice beach to walk along, many hotels, shops, etc. boarding the beach so if you want a snack or meal places to do that.

This is a terrific beach with calm areas and some areas to body surf. Nice soft sand. There is enough people to make it enjoyable without being overrun.

Great for snorkeling ( sea turtles) and whale watching (check season for whales migrate in December- Feb) are not as crazy as Makena Beach, Jaws, etc. Perfect for families…pretty clean and close to Whaler’s Village (Tommy Bahama, Johnny Was, Billabong, Lullulemon, etc.) and restaurants such as Hula Grill, Leilani’s and Huihui. I took off a star only because it can get crowded with tourists - lol!

There are hotels lined up on this beach and it's hard to search/find parking. Fortunately, we found a public beach access parking near Hyatt that was hidden from public view (you have to find it carefully on Google Maps). The hotels have occupied most of the beach front leaving very little space for the beach. However, the beach is maintained very well probably by the hotels.

Our Hotel was just steps away. Could always find a spot. If you walk down to middle you will see where all the snorkelers are and jump right in middle of it. FYI, sand is thick and gets everywhere not powder like. Just be prepared. Loved it. Can watch the whales all day long right from beach.

It was a good beach with convenient access to shopping and multiple hotels. The beach was not large yet not crowded. It is right next to black rock, which is a prime diving spot and from which you can see an interesting and brief sunset ceremony.

This is a great place to relax, enjoy the beach, snorkel at your own pace and dive from a 25-foot rock.

There is a hotel behind that has a bar, where you can get drinks.

Most perfect beach ever with great shopping really close by @ Whalers. Black Rock is such a beautiful spot & offers world class snorkeling. We saw sea turtles every day. Tons of tropical fish. The sand is so soft & white - it’s literally the picture beach! We loved having lunch @ the Hula Hut which is located right on the beach
