Fun Surf Lessons

Had a blast with the teacher Josh! Nice place to learn, the waves are not too big and they start us on a big board so you can easily get up. They lend us rash guards and shoes.

These guys were fantastic! My brother and i took a 2 hour private lesson with Johnny and had a great time. The teaching was excellent and fun. We had never surfed in our lives, and after a brief tutorial on the beach, we were both riding on our first try. 2 hours is plenty, because it is exhausting paddling in... More

Had an awesome time yesterday at Royal Hawaiian Surf Acadamy! Instructors Josh and Marcellus were very knowledgable and helpful and easy to ask for assistance while on land or in water... Stop by for your 2 hour lesson when in Lanai!!

My husband and I had a semi-private lesson with Josh. The instruction was great! Josh truly loves surfing and wants his clients to share his love of surfing. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. Benny is a great GM and makes sure everyone is happy. You can't go wrong with Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy!

What a great surf lesson and best of all what a awesome time. Had so much fun, instructor was very patient with me and my wife being 50 and first timers. We won't be joining any Ameritech contest soon but we're both able to get up on the boards and best of all had a blast doing it.

Thorough instructions from Kea. Got us standing up on the board in no time. Felt safe the entire time. Signed up for a group lesson but my wife and I were the only ones, so we basically got a private lesson. Also, invest in the pictures to document the whole thing. I would definitely recommend the Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy!

Our family (2 adults and 3 teenagers) enjoyed a group lesson at Royal Hawaiian in January 2017. It was wonderful. After a brief walk to the beach from the shop, our instructor (pro surfer Granger Larsen, no less), provided us with easy to understand tips on the beach before we hit the waves. Once in the water, Granger helped each... More

Our two 20-year old daughters took a semi-private lesson with Kea on 1/7/17. Everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. It was totally worth doing the semi-private as Kea was helping both of them the entire two hours. The group lessons you need to wait for your turn. They thoroughly enjoyed their lesson and Kea was terrific! They are right in... More

Standing up on a surfboard was on my bucket list. My teenaged kids learned a few summers ago, and made it look easy (but it's not!). I tried once or twice in the chilly waters of Central California, but couldn't manage to stand up (and was terrified!). I decided to treat myself to a private surfing lesson during our stay... More
