Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening...

Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening close-encounters with Dolphins, Whales & Turtles since 1982. We have hosted film crews from National Geographic to BBC Wildlife. Operating within the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, we depart from historic Lahaina Town, Maui. From December through May, Humpback Whale encounters are guaranteed and the crystalline offshore waters frequently provide a passing subsurface eye-to-eye view. Many people are truly touched by their experience amongst these intelligent giants.

Tour sizes are for small group whale encounters, 18 or less on a 24 passenger raft style rescue boat. Great maneuverability and speed get you to some of the closest whale action possible, in the world! To ensure current and competent information, the crew is involved with whale research and highly passionate about the whales.

We invite you to come and see for yourself, one of the last remaining great migrations of the Animal Kingdom. And as always, a portion of each ticket sold supports whale research on Maui. Thank you for helping make a difference.

Very professional & organized excursion. Captain Ryan & MJ made this a great experience in my quest to see a whale breach!! The smaller raft (as opposed to a boat) made the event much more personal & enjoyable. Beware of "specials" for a cheaper price...you get what you pay for. Thanks for a great outing!!

We did a 2 hour whale watching tour over the Christmas holidays. It's the very start of the whale watching season, so we weren't sure we would see many whales. We saw plenty. We had a couple of whales come right up next to our boat and "roll over" and look at us. One of them swam back and forth... More

This whale watching was the best. It was so good, we went twice! We saw multiple whales on each Expedition! The naturalists were great and very informative. Well worth the money and you get a Discount on the second trip!

We went out with Rachel and Amy and had one of the greatest sight seeing tour of our lives. We saw about 20 breaches, two whales swimming under our boat, a baby whale, a dolphin, tons of tails and fins and water spooting. It was amazing. I'm no expert but I doubt every tour can match what we saw, but... More

My girlfriend and I took the early morning 10 person 2 hour tour which was on a small motorised raft. A captain and naturalist guide you through the tour and keep up with interesting facts about the whales and they certainly know their stuff. The smaller boats makes for smaller numbers and it makes it an all the more personal... More

This was our second time going out with Ultimate Whale Watch. Last year's whale watch with them was GREAT! That's why we booked with them again. We had been telling our adult kids how much fun the raft experience was and that you could get to where the whales were so fast by being on a rigid hull raft instead... More

Had the best experience whale watching on 1/11/17. Ben was our thoroughly competent captain and Sergio our knowledgeable naturalist. I wanted a personalized experience, and it was. We saw so many humpback whales. They are wonderful experts and guides!

This was an experience of a lifetime! The crew took us to where the whales where. We enjoyed the first ride with Gabe and Hanna that we booked a second one. Rachel and Hanna were another great team. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. The second trip was even more amazing than the first. Whales where very active and breached at least... More

We did the 10 person 2 hour tour. The captain and naturalist were awesome. (Racheal and Hannah). We got up close and personal with a pod of 5 whales. Overall a very good experience.

This tour was on a "raft" with a motor like for an outboard . It seemed a bit small but really it was so much fun. We did see whales mostly from a distance but it was delightful to be out on the ocean enjoying the day. Very knowledgeable staff and they couldn't have been better. There are so many... More
