Mark picked us up at 2:20 am and he was fun. Once we got to Maui Downhill they had sweet rolls, coffee and tea. Fitted us with helmets and rain gear and we left for sunrise on Haleakala. Jessie our bike guide and Mark kept a fun banter going all the way up -it was fun. The sunrise was worth... More

I went on this activity with friends and we had an excellent time! The 2am pick up is early but it's a known when booking so hot coffee at the base was welcomed! Our guides Shane and Jesse were splendid! Fun and up beat with tons of knowledge of the area and good places to eat! We had a super... More

9/8/14 - This trip was recommended to us by a friend. We were picked up at 2am, shuttled up to the top to see a beautiful sun rise and also a moon set. It was a bit chilly, we were not dressed warm enough, be sure to bring some gloves. We were then taken down to get fitted for bikes... More

The 2am pick up was a bit painful...however, the timing was worked perfectly to get up the mountain in time to catch a beautiful sunrise and to get a good viewing spot before too much of a crowd had arrived. The downhill bike ride was well managed and the bikes were custom made for the task. Must mention that all... More

The Haleakala sunrise and bike ride was wonderful but it was made even better by the crew that was there to take care of us. We've heard that the Haleakala Sunrise is something that you shouldn't miss while visiting Maui. We looked up several tour groups but Maui Downhill was highly recommended by a friend. We booked this activity through... More

My wife and I are visiting Maui for the second time, we saw the bikes last time and wanted to try it this trip. Our guides Billy and Stan were great! The best! Very concerned and experienced about our safety and that we enjoyed the ride. They told great stories of local history and folk lore, we learned a lot... More

My family of eight took their tour for the sunrise experience and I am glad we had to wake up at 3:30 AM. Our tour guides ( I only remember Robo) were great and they gave us the history of the island. We did not make it to the top but they found a great spot to see the sunrise.... More

quick tips/info ...picked up at 1:50am *BRING a blanket for the bus (not sure if the van needed to be freezing to offset the fog outside on mtn on the way up, but the driver told us in advance he would not turn the A/c off). *if you need something more than sugar for breakfast at 2:45am, bring it yourself.... We did the day tour and had a fantastic time. RC was amazing, my son loved him and my husband as well! Tony was great too. They both looked after us all day and I felt safe the whole time. RC made it heaps of fun. We loved it, was a highlight of our Maui stay.

The first part of the trip was great. Our pickup was prompt and the guide in the van was wonderful. He said he grew up in Hana and knew a lot about the area. We were among the first groups to arrive at the top. It was cold but I really appreciated getting there early. We had the best spot... More
