Amazing drive going throw cliffs, rainforest, views ... The road is good till the blowholle and then it turns in one lane. Great hikes on the way and not very crouded

We were already planning on driving this route but had no idea what that would entail. There is a portion that is one lane, so be prepared for that and make sure you are respectful of other drivers. There are some great stops along the...More

We planned on driving around west Maui but didn't know it would be one of the trip highlights! I really recommend doing this! We used a tour guide book "Maui revealed" which was extremely helpful. We stopped at slaughterhouse beach, wonderfully located off the side...More

We did the circle drive directly from the airport in our rented SUV since we had to wait for our hotel room in Kihei to be ready. We drove anti clockwise and had a spectacular drive. My husband has been doing all the driving here...More

We drove this road today in a clockwise direction in our rental car and it was great. We did the road to Hana a few days ago and this one was much easier and way less busy. I must say that after reading other worrying...More

It will take at least half a day... depending on how many times you will stop to explore paths on the bluffs and take pictures. And there is something to see behind every bend in the road. No 4X4 required. There are many little beaches...More

There is a lot of controversy over this trip, do it clockwise, or anticlockwise, 300+ ft drops with no guard rails, fantastic views, one lane roads, few places to pull over and let oncoming cars pass, you can't drive this with a rental car, and...More

A really lovely drive for scenery. We decided to go on a whim so hadn't done any reading beforehand, and I'm glad I didn't as I might have changed my mind. We went anti-clockwise in order to be on the side of the road best...More

from start to go it took us about 3+ hrs, their are some hairy points in the drive where the road is so narrow you end up reversing a wee bit so that the car coming toward you can get past, i suggest beeping before... More
