If you are in Hana you have to see this. The approach to the beach is through backyards and slippery slopes. And you don't see it until you turn the corner. And what a sight!! Between the unreal red cliffs surrounding the cove, the red (yes!!) colored beach sand, the rock barrier that protects the beach from rough waters, and... More

A MUST do experience when visiting Hana if you can walk up and down hillsides about 1/2 mile to beach and 1/2 mile back.

The hike to the beach was a challenge for our almost 70 year old bodies, but well worth the trip. We had no regrets. We almost skipped it and so glad we didn't. It's a beautiful walk to the red sand beach. This was the first red sand beach we had ever seen and loved taking picture to show our... More

Loved this beach! It's a hike, can be challenging at times depending on the trail condition. First visit, it was more like a goat path my daughter insisted I had to do. Surprisingly ran into another girl and her mother from our same hometown (4000+ miles away). Loved the beach and the water, not for weak swimmers and there is... More

I found this an easy hike. I was wearing running shoes and used my husband for a hand up or down occasionally but I was comfortable the entire hike. I am 70 and don't use the word easy...easily! It was well worth the effort and I swear I wasn't watching the naked young man who was swimming during our visit.... More

I loved stopping in at this red sand beach. Somewhat hard to find, but so worth it. I cannot believe how incredible this place was. Went on March 4, 2017. Loved it soooo much!

We walked the trail, which was a bit hard to find, but we absolutely loved the Red Sand Beach. We didn't even go there to get in the water, but just to enjoy the beauty of the area. We went in the morning and got great photos. The trail was a bit rough at places and we would not have... More

Definitely worthwhile. Wear shoes, not sandals. And don't give up to soon-worth pushing to end. Find beginning of trail across lawn past school/community center.

The trail is a little hard to find and can be very steep, do not attempt this in flip flops. The beach is just amazing, cant really tell you any other work for it. very protected cove with blue blue water.
