Amazing views here. Drive to the top! Bring your camera and wind/rain jacket. Gorgeous scenery. Temperature dropped 17 degrees as we drove up. Fun day!

Easy to find on two well paved highways. One leaves from the town of Waimea and the other about 2 miles west This is a very popular tourist destination so be patient and bring water and food as there aren’t many facilities en route The...More

Take the time to drive to see the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific". This is amazing. It is so colorful. So beautiful. There are many lookouts along the drive to get different views and the road is very good road to travel on.

I heard it described as the grand canyon of Hawaii. I could not believe the views. So glad we made the trip to see it. This made our trip. Dont go to Kauai without seeing this canyon.

In my opinion. Waimea Canyon is much more impressive than the Grand Canyon. The views are amazing and the color of the landscape is beautiful. I highly recommend visiting if you are on the island of Kauai.

Hawaii's version of the Grand Canyon, worth the drive. Beautiful views and waterfalls. The lower highway is not marked well where to turn, (take Waimea Canyon Drive, much better road). Beautiful views.

Great drive and many gorgeous lookouts. We walked a couple of trails and we loved every minute! Natural beauty, we found the walks easier than what described, amazing photos opportunities

The drive is great , going there, during all the many stops for lookout viewpoints, and the return. Bring a good camera, and a telephoto lens if you can.

It’s a very easy drive. The roads are well cared for. There are no rails but it’s not really needed. The best way to do this is take it nice and slow and do multi stops along the way and enjoy the view. It’s not a difficult... More

As the others have indicated, the park is enough above sea level that the climate and temperature does change a bit (cooler and rainier than at the beaches). The park service rents some rustic cabins and the literature... More
