This undulating hike is just shy of four miles and has some amazing vistas and photography opportunities along the way. You will end up at the top of an 800 foot waterfall. If you pay close attention you can see goats in the canyon below. Not for the novice hiker, and not for the faint of heart. It is however,... More

Steep and slick in spots but we were glad we did it. Lovely waterfalls and wild flowers. Great views of the Waimea Canyon. We got to see feral goats and tropic birds as well.

Actually I was surprised how easy this particular trail was. Awesome views around the way and waterfalls at the very end. Go there if you can!

1) You don't really see the falls, just a little precursor (unless you challenge your fear of heights and risk your neck by going way off trail.) The falls you see are so non-eventful that we thought we hadn't arrived so kept going for another mile. 2) It's not easy to follow the trail. When in doubt, go right. 3)... More

My wife and I did the Canyon trail in Kauai. The trail was in pretty good shape and I would say easy-moderate difficulty. There are spots though that can be quite muddy, so be careful if it rained recently. There isn't too much to see on the trail, but the view of the Canyon near the end is breathtaking. There... More

It was heavily overcast and raining off and on while we were there, which severely limited our views. But was still had a lot of fun. The waterfalls are nice (be sure to see them both), and the canyon views are breathtaking.

Loved the scenery of this hike. For the most part this hike wasn't too difficult but it was fairly wet and muddy which made it slippery in some spots. Although it wasn't very difficult, there was one part closer to the waterfall that was very steep and a bit tricky. I brought hiking poles and they came in handy. Others... More

This was our first time to complete the Canyon Trail to Waipo'o Falls and we were pleasantly surprised by the views and trek. We started off the trail at 8:30 am and finished by 11:30 am with quite a bit of time spent at the last viewpoint and taking pictures at the falls. We did not pass anyone else on... More

We had done this trail five years ago and wanted to repeat. The first part was very wet and muddy which made for slow going on the steeper parts. After reaching the falls we returned via the Black Pipe loop to the four wheel drive roads that made the climb back up to the highway much easier than the direct... More
