Don’t miss this drive up to the canyon overlook. Twisting curving drive up to spectacular overlook. Watch for clouds before you go. Many times there is no view at the top because of clouds. Go early in the morning as parking is limited. Don’t go...More

We took a drive up the canyan road and stopped at most of the lookouts. It’s a beautiful drive with breath taking views. We also took a helicopter ride over the canyon which showed us the vastness of the canyon that you do not see...More

Fantastic views just off the road. Great holes if you want them. Parking lots can fill up quickly so get there early if you want to park there. Scenery is definitely affected by frequent clouds but you can't beat the"Grand Canyon of the Pacific" on...More

A not to be missed side trip to amazing views of a geologic phenomenon. The fresh coconut and fruit sold in the parking lot is a refreshing treat as well.

Waimea Canyon is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, and it deserves the name. We visited twice during our trip, as the first time was on a cloudy day so the views were obscured. To reach it requires around an hour drive up...More

Great park with amazing views! This is well worth the trip and the hiking trails are well maintained. We couldnt see the Kalalau valley because of clouds/fog in the afternoon. It is apparently more likely to get clear views in the morning and it would...More

We went to Weimea Canyon yesterday and drove to the top. When we drove through Weimea, we followed the sign which directed us to proceed 3 miles ahead and then turn up - BIG MISTAKE! There are 2 ways up, and the one to which...More

It was a very easy lazy drove up and down the canyon. It is wise to leave early as parking is sometimes hard to find. You have to be patient. And don't miss out on the Grand view. Take water Take your own lunch And...More

This place is breathtaking. Only had time to hike about half way down. Fairly steep and don't go if it is raining because the trail can get slippery. Take plenty of water. Ran into a few wild goats.

Nice vantage views of the canyon from the lookout points when the often foggy weather permits. Great early morning photography. Spectacular views of the canyon and waterfalls by helicopter.

It is worth seeing a different perspective of the canyon. Slow and steady up the winding narrow road. Plenty of places to stop and take in the view. If you want to make it to the top by sunset I wouldn't stop to long. The... More

Definitely drive yourself. It's an easy drive and, with your own car, you'll have the flexibility to stop/linger wherever you like. On a tour, you might not be given the option/time to walk out for some of the best canyon... More
