The parking lot for this beach is easy to miss and often full. I lucky enough to snag a parking space around 3 PM on a Thursday. The walk down was a bit of a trek but nothing too dangerous - what makes it difficult...More

The beach is directly behind the condo. project. Parking is a challenge. The access is very steep and hard to climb down. HOWEVER, it's worth it! Shallow reef. lots of rock and small fish. In the winter it can be rough. Summer is like a...More

Two sections, one accessible by a steep slippery path that starts next to the Pu'u Po'a condo pool and tennis courts, and another via a paved path from Pali Ke Kua condos. The second path is much easier, but the first beach is better, and...More

This was on our must see list from the ULTIMATE KAUAI GUIDEBOOK. We went early June, it kept raining that day every 30min or so. The hike down becomes a mudslide despite the "safety ropes" in place. Wear hiking shoes and normal clothes for the...More

This beach was down the road from where we were staying in princeville. It’s easy to find by just following the road to the St. Regis. There is a dirt path that takes you around the side of the resort which then turns into a...More

The path to Pali Ke Kua (also known as Hideaways Beach) is before one gets to the Princeville Hotel gate house. Look around for the tennis courts for a path to the right. The trail down is OK if it hasn't rained a lot--it can...More

I went to about 5 beaches on Kauai and this was my favorite. Very limited parking (8 stalls). Super clear blue water and since there's only 8 parking stalls, there was hardly anyone on the beach. Tons of shade on shore as well thanks to...More

Great little hike down to the beach. Get there early for parking and a spot on the beach. Tide gets high later in the day.

This was my favorite beach until Trip Advisor and social media ruined it. We used to be able to snorkel over the reefs and see the most amazing fish but it appears that the overuse of this beach has destroyed the reef and the overcrowding...More

The climb down is a bit daunting but we found this is the easiest and least cloudy place for snorkeling from Princeville. All types of fish and turtles are present.

Hideaways was an awesome experience - very cool secluded beach. The walk down is a little steep but very doable and there is a rope that you can hold on to for support. For parking, I'd recommend parking at the St... More

Waves can get bigger in winter but still safe to swim and snorkel. Water temp is still ok As far as clouds, all depends on weather. The north shore gets its fair share of rain but than a half hour later it's a rainbow and... More
