We have visited the lighthouse and wildlife refuge on numerous occasions. It never gets old and the scenery is splendid. It's a small walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse, but they now offer an enclosed golf cart shuttle. Great views!

We came for the view and were surprised by the interpretive centre nature of the park. Truly worth the drive and the time.

Beautiful view of the 1914 lighthouse. a 4 minute drive from the Lihue to Napali highway. Worth the slight 4 minute detour to view the coast. If you wish to visit the lighthouse and refuge, it is $5 per person, drive in only.

Nice drive on the way to the lighthouse. Good coastal views with informational plaque. Smells fishy but allows you to spot lots of birds off the cliffs. Good pit stop!

Was a good stop to learn a little about kauai birds and plants. Very interesting and beautiful of course. Self guided walking tour.

the lighthouse closes at 4 so I couldn't get there, but the lookout still offers some lovely views with lots of sea birds in the area. Also wild geese and chickens abound so drive carefully.

We stopped here on our drive up to the North Shore. It was a great little detour with gorgeous views of the coastline.

Great spot to go see some of Hawaii's endangered wildlife like the laysan albatross (which is here for a few months starting in December), the red footed boobies which are in abundance across the way on a cliff side, and the frigates which are there...More

Let me change that answer. That is for the Kilauea Lighthouse. The wildlife refuge isn't really a place you go into. It defines an area around the lighthouse. So it is always open to the birds, and you can come anytime... More
