Nothing fancy here, just an amazing vantage point from which to watch the seabirds. It is well run and maintained. The small parking area outside the entrance is a fine place to view the birds, but it is worth the money to drive in to...More

Kilauea Point is the northernmost point of Hawaii islands. The setting here with the nice old lighthouse and the impressive rocky bay is almost too perfect. The sea was pretty rough which added the cherry on top and made this total movie scene material. Great...More

Nice stop to see the local shoreline landmarks, the lighthouse, and the large variety of birds. In the winter months before March this is a great place to see whales. Great coastal views!

National Wildlife Refuge, costs a few $ to get in ($5 per person I think) Views are amazing! Especially out towards Turtle Cove, Anini and Hanalei. The birds are quite a sight to see, and the tour guides/naturalists were wonderful. Didn’t make it up the...More

We visited the Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge today. What a lovely spot. Breathtaking views over the ocean and craggy mountain covered with birds. Nene's all over (endangered, just wandering around happily), albatrosses and so many other large and small birds. Nice walk up to the...More

Great place to visit. Not expensive and on the right day you can get a tour in the lighthouse. We unfortunately missed the right day but could still get right next to the tower. The views are also amazing and you get some history about...More

If you visit Kauai, this is a MUST SEE destination. If costs a mere five bucks per person to get in, and well worth every penny. You can sign out binoculars to use while you walk the peninsula. They have a wonderful gift shop, and...More

The Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge is co-located with a beautiful and historic lighthouse. It is a bird-lovers haven. So spectacular seeing the albatross, frigatebirds etc. flying right past your eyes. We also saw shearwater chicks in their nests right near the car park.

Excellent opportunity to learn about sea birds and see them in person. Free binoculars provided. Worthwhile. Know they are closed Sunday and Monday and open only 10-4.

Let me change that answer. That is for the Kilauea Lighthouse. The wildlife refuge isn't really a place you go into. It defines an area around the lighthouse. So it is always open to the birds, and you can come anytime... More
