This botanic garden is on the side of a mountain, so be prepared for a lot of uphill and down. That said, the guide is extremely informative, the volunteers who work there are really nice, and the views are fantastic! Especially the whale point. The cost is $20 per person, this money is used to keep up the gardens and... More

This place has beautiful grounds but the paths can be tricky especially when it is rainy season and mud makes the trails quite slippery. Thankfully the team here is great at giving instruction, showing caution and urging adventurers to be careful as they trek about. There is a small shop on site that offers fun, local made goods. Parking is... More

For $20/ person, you get a great tour book with stories and information and a trail that allows you to get lost in nature with breathtaking vistas. I was expecting a nice botanical garden walk and was so amazed how beautiful this preserve was. Be prepared to do a fantastic walk with a bit of an incline.

Well worth the trip. For your $20 entry fee, you get a really sweet guidebook for the self-guided tour that not only provides lovely botanical drawings and information about the plants, but also calls out lovely places to sit (eg by a peaceful stream or at a high point looking out over the ocean) to read and contemplate the history... This is a special place. The tropical gardens are well-tended and very impressive, with informative signs all along. In addition, the overall setting is nestled into an amazing valley surrounded by almost other-worldly mountain peaks. Plan on a couple of hours and plan on being impressed! Well worth the drive. It's a bit expensive, but keep in mind that proceeds... More

Never expected to see plants that are on the verge of extinction . Thank goodness they are being saved The book given by reception (which you keep) is a must read as you walk around the area. The gardeners, if you chance to meet them are very helpful and knowledgeable Still can't belive I've seen plants on the verge of... More

We spotted this garden as we drove to NaPali coast. We thought it was a garden to walk through. But we discovered was much more than that. The tour comes with a very informative book. The tour is well marks for easy of navigating. This is actually a resortation garden. There are growning native plants that almost extint in the... More

Beautiful for nature lovers, great for botanical science and plant detail fans. Very economical and a nice hike. Go in the morning when temps are cooler. Well worth the $20

This is a wonderful place to learn about the the flora of the islands both invasive and indigenous. It will also allow you to learn about the stories and history of Kauai. Wonderful place to take pictures as well.
