It's with good reason that Kauai is called the "Garden Island" and this is one of the best. It replicates an ancient Hawaiin village with beautiful terraced gardens and has views of the boats touring the Napili Coast. The location is very near Ke'e Beach,...More

If you love the history of the plant life on the island as I do, this is a great experience. Well marked and identified, the walk up through the valley is amazing, and the views from the plateau are outstanding, and worth the short, easy...More

Thoughtfully laid out botanical garden that educates about the first Hawaiians and their plants. Lovely path winds around a hillside and ends with a traditional hut. Booklet explaining the plants and uses was very informative. Well-worth a visit!

The gardens are almost at the end of the road near ke'e beach - it is an interesting drive with narrow winding roads, but one that you will want to do anyway, so take the time to stop in at the gardens. The gardens are...More

Great gardens with incredible views of the ocean. Learned so much about the plants that are native to Kauai and how they are being threatened by invasive imports (both plant and animal). Enjoy the beauty of the gardens. But don't miss the opportunity to learn...More

The drive out to the gardens is the worst part, but from Princeville, it is beautiful drive anyway. The gardens were great to educate about the plants pre-Polynesian, and post European. Even though most of the plants seem Hawaiian today. Great history, beautiful stroll and...More

You might want to go to their sister garden in the southern part of the island. It's the NTBS Allerton Garden. It's a lovely stroll as the gardens were planted by the Allerton's as outdoor rooms. Perfect for the entire... More
