We went on a rainy day when there were no guided tours. Having an umbrella and rain slicker were very helpful. The book given to us by the gift store clerk and the markers along the way were very helpful. They provide walking sticks to keep you from slipping on the hillside. Don't wear flip flops if you are visiting... More

While I'd always heard Limahuli Garden was nice, we're really not "garden" people and had never make the effort to visit before. This trip we finally did - and were very pleasantly surprised. As others have noted, the garden is toward the end of the road, just before Ke'e Beach, and the parking area isn't very large. Unfortunately, spaces in... More

This botanical garden is absolutely beautiful and unique. They have segmented plants that are considered indigenous from introduced plants and is educational as well as a very pleasant way to spend a couple hours exploring Kauai's beauty.

We really felt like the drive to Limahuli was quite worth our time. The self-guided tour through the grounds was very pleasant and the guide book was chock full of great information. The views that surround you were beautiful, we saw (and heard) a lot of birds, and the little streams were such a wonderful sound.

We found this place in a travel book as we wanted to go to a botanical garden. Really wanted to go to Allerton, but at $60 per adult?!?! So checking out Limahuli made sense. I was ok with $20 per adult AND my 11 and 13 were free! Even though it rained a lot (November), it was still a nice... More

Touring through the gardens, there are ample places to just stop, sit and enjoy the ambiance. There are many varieties of flora and fauna native to and invasive to Kauai. The included guide book does a good job of explaining the history of their origin. It also covers a few of the folklore stories. There are numerous photo spots along... More

I was expecting bounteous flowers but what I got was an education on indigenous and endemic plants, some so endangered the only known species were here. Got two walking sticks (provided) and made the trip easily at 67 with a bad knee. The hike, while elevated half way up the Bali Hai Mountain which is next to it, is not... More

Drove up the coast to this garden based on TripAdvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed! The entry fee is on the steep side but the gardens are so beautifully maintained and the views of the lush gardens alongside the cliffs and the ocean are a must-see. The drive is a bit out of the way but it's worth it!

The cost is $20 pp but worth it! It can be quite a hike to view everything so maybe not recommended for mobility impaired. There are water stations along the way for really hot days. We actually left and drove down to get to the end of the road and beach down there the and there we tons of cars... More
