We took the Island Helicopter tour which is the only one to actually land at the falls. So worth the extra cost because you get a unique experience of The Valley. It really gives you a sense of the primordial. Like creation could happen here. It is only a very short walk fron where the helicopter lands to the falls.

Generally a quiet island to visit, if you stay away from the 'kiddie' oriented resort. If you are there it is a reasonable drive to see the island with it.

My wife and I did the Jurassic Falls Landing Adventure with Island Helicopters. They are the only helicopter company that is allowed to land at the falls. It is more magnificent in person than on the big screen.
***Tip - If you take photos with anything other than a smart phone, such as a DSLR, make sure you bring a couple of lens cleaning cloths. The camera and lens will get wet from the spray very rapidly. I had a UV filter over my lens but it kept getting wet and the only thing I had to clean it was the bottom of my shirt. I know that this is not recommended even for a filter. If I didn't have a filter over the lens, I would have never cleaned the lens with a shirt. I would have used my smartphone to take the photos instead.

We took the helicopter tour by Island Helicopters. It was fantastic to be able land at the falls and walk right up them. Truly amazing and beautiful. Our pilot was very friendly and made the flight very enjoyable!

This was an amazing experience. We were able to view the falls from a helicopter and it was certainly something I won’t forget. Simply beautiful. I’m also a Jurassic Park fan so that added to the coolness of seeing this particular waterfall.

Thsi is the falls you've seen in Jurassic Park and it is a fabulous experience. Easy to get too, great to photograph and the flow of people and cars is manageable. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Kauai.

The pilot was excellent. The trip was amazing. The chopper was smooth. Getting to walk pretty much to the base of the falls was awesome - we were close enough to be getting soaked by the spray from the falls. Do it. Worth the $$!

Be able to see this from different angles from eh front seat of a helicopter was amazing.. this is a massive waterfall, and getting to this as well as dozens of other smaller falls from the air is something everyone should do at least once if going to Kauai.

Also nicknamed "Jurassic Park Falls" because of the helicopter landing near the beginning of the original Jurassic Park movie, Manawaiopuna Falls is truly breathtaking. We saw it from the air on a helicopter tour, but we were able to see it well, and take some great photos. It is on private land, and you can drive or hike to it. Only one helicopter company has a limited permission to land there. It was perhaps the most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen.

But you can't hike here. You must take Island Helicopters. They are the only ones that can land here. But this is an astounding waterfall and worth the extra to land there.

Shoes that are comfortable and your not afraid to get muddy. A light jacket in case it starts to rain. A small backpack for water and a snack.

I doubt that the review of the falls where the writer said he drove is legit. We tried today and a gate saying no trespassing, private property was closed 1.9 miles from the falls. I suspect a bogus review.

I did my own booking directly from Australia before we left for Hawaii. There wasn't any drama and they were very helpful.
They picked us up and dropped us back to our cruise ship
Below is a link to their web site so you can see the packages they have. We did the landing at the falls package. Looking at the cost now it looks like USD324 per person. I think its worth the extra to land at the falls.
