We were a little dubious about booking the luau due to COVID. We’re not in a hurry to stand in any buffet line. But we trust Marriott Vacation Club and are glad we signed up. First, there was no buffet line and groups were seated separately so you weren’t dining with strangers. We were served most courses at our table. Tables went up one at a time for the main entree that was handed to you on a tray. The only line was for beer and cocktails. And the show was well worth the price. Great host, music and dancers. A must see for a true Aloha experience.

If you are staying at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott, there is no reason to leave the property to experience a amazing luau. The food was high-quality, the setting was beautiful and the pride in the local culture shone through in the entertainment. The Marriott delivered on the luau experience we were seeking for a special night on the Big Island.

We were staying at Kings' Land & this luau was less expensive than one we had attended a few years before at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. I paid online the night before and was 3rd in line at 4:00 PM to pick up our tickets. I purchased beautiful hand made leis for all of us for $5.00 each (for charity). We were seated at a table in the back, about 4 rows from the stage. The tables were round and we all fit at one table together. The sun was hot and in our eyes (take sunglasses) but it didn't take long to go down behind some clouds. The bar was open when we arrived and the drinks were delicious and plentiful. My grandson and I watched the uncovering of the pig which was very interesting. We had a group picture taken and everyone wore a lei in the photo making it that much more authentic. The emcee offered a lovely prayer (much appreciated) and sang a beautiful song in his native language that we recognized (Blest Be the Tie That Binds). It turns out that our location was great because no one was behind us so we weren't crowded. The only problem was that we couldn't really see the floor of the stage because other people were seated in front of us, but we could stand up without obscuring anyone's view. The food was fabulous and the show was excellent, although not quite as elaborate as the one we had seen before. The dancers, musicians, & emcees were all very talented. The luau was a highlight of our week long trip, among many other wonderful adventures. We love The Big Island!!!

We went to the Laua at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott. The resort was amazing and the food was great. Open bar from 4-7 and several opportunities to visit the buffet line. The show is on the smaller side with about 6 dancers in total but the traditional pig preparation was neat to see and it is quite the scenic spot.

A really fun night of food, drinks, and entertainment. Excellent cultural presentation of a luau. Learned some, and enjoyed the whole experience. Plenty to eat and drink!
