We're so glad we planned our visit to Volcano to include the weekend so we could come to this early market (starts at 6 am!). Lots of cooked foods to buy. Come hungry, get some food, sit at a table and meet the very nice people who live in the area. The thrift store had several Aloha shirts for $5.... More

One of the highlights of a trip to the Big Island. Great little farmers' market in the town of Volcano, near the National Park. Sunday mornings only, mix of fresh fruit with cooked foods and gifts. LOVED the hot moon cakes (azuki beans and purple sweet potatoes) and also being able to meet Charlene Meyer from Images of Hawaii and... More

Stopped by before driving back to Kona. Met a couple of interesting merchants selling local honey, cool shirts, prepared food and fresh vegetables and meat. Interesting to mingle and swap stories. Cash preferred. Not all merchants accept credit cards Bathroom facility available.

Bargain 2nd hand throwaways; great food court outside and with ample parking. Homey atmosphere; one-truck fire station manned by volunteers next door.

We stopped here on for breakfast the morning we were leaving Volcano on our way back to the Kohala Coast. There is freshly prepared breakfast available, and you can eat it right there on the picnic tables. My girls and I had macnut french toast, and my husband had a breakfast sandwhich. The eggs were so fresh that I wished... More

We were able to feed our family of four for two days entirely from the food we got at this delightful market. We purchased grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, multi-colored eggs, hydroponic lettuce, a big bunch of bok choy, purple carrots, soft and flavorful whole-grain bread, ice cream beans, and some surprisingly excellent pastries. All of it was great. We also... More

We went to the Farmer's Market there and its worth getting up early to do so. It goes from 6:30AM-9 or 9:30, I think. There's hot coffee and hot food items along with wonderful produce and crafts. Worth checking out. Also most every night we drove by someone was there having a barbecue or picnic. There's a playground for the... More

Very, very enjoyable hulu dancers and island musical groups. Lots of local prepared food. Looking in as an outsider, very welcoming and enjoyable event. Bought food from the Tuk-tuk Thai Food Truck, but there were many other above average food vendors. Loved the chicken rotisserie!
