My 14 year old son asked us to stop here on our recent trip as all he wanted to do was jump off the cliff at South point. I had read about it before the trip and decided he wouldn not be jumping, but we...More

Stopped here on the way to Hilo from Kona. After reading other reviews saying the green sand beaches is over-rated, decided to skip that. The road to South Point is, however, paved and accessible by passenger car. It's about 20 minutes off the highway. It...More

Got up early to drive down from Kona to hit up this must see spot. There was a decent sized parking lot outside of the beginning of the trail. There were several locals offering 4x4 rides for a fee to the beach area. My husband...More

If you are an adrenaline junky like me you will love this cliff jumping. The water is amazing and has a color of blue that does not go away as you splash around. It can be rough though so only jump in if its a...More

The south point is a fair drive from the major tourist centers on the Big Island, so you really need to dedicate most of the day to seeing these places. After a long road heading south from the highway you come to a parking lot....More

Cliff Diving, Awesome! Even if you're not going to dive yourself, go watch the others. Also, this is the Southern most point in the USA. You can drive right to it, there is a clay parking lot or park alongside the road. Must Do.

It takes about 12 miles off the main road to reach South Point but don't be discouraged. The road gets a little narrow but it is paved and there is plenty of off road parking. The views are stunning! You will probably see a few...More

I am writing this review because I wish I had known that you don't have to pay the 20 dollars pp for the shuttle if you have four wheel drive. We were misled by the local there who told us the only way to get...More

This beach is well worth the walk in. You will need to park at a parking lot that looks like a shantytown. Be sure to lock your car!!! If you decide to drive to the beach you will need a jeep or 4x4 to access....More

They will approach you on the parking area. I think the hike itself added to the experience though and I wouldn't pay for the ride personally. I would suggest being sunscreens up as it's very windy and you don't realize... More

I wouldn't cliff jump unless you have snorkeld the water to check for depth or rock spires. And don't swim these waters without lifeguard present....several people drown per day in Hawaii....and good swimmers too... More

Yes, locals are there waiting when you drive in. We paid $15 per person. Ask them to be in the cab, otherwise you're in the box of the truck. It's very windy out there, wear close toed shoes too. Enjoy!!
