Nice little family beach right next to Pu'ukohola Heiau. After you check out the Heiau, go over to the beach to cool down. Very relaxed - lots of families having picnics. Good shower facilities and changing room too.

My wife and I were visiting Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site and just happen to literally stumble upon this quaint park. The beach itself was beautiful and clean; there were a few other beach goers and a nice family throwing a luau. We were going...More

This was the place we always brought the kids to swim and camp, until they learned how to swim. There were aways problems then, with homeless, trash, bathrooms etc. and there still is. Too bad. It's still an ok place for kids to swim.

Nice beach with facilities. A nice beach for the kids and a good place to watch the sunset. The beach has shade and picnic tables. The surf was not rough when we were there and was a sandy beach.

Don't know for sure. If the rocks are light in weight and shiny-black, they're lava. Heavy black rocks may not be or may be lava based.
