By far the highlight of my trip to the Big Island! Waipi'o on Horseback is a great company, they were very friendly and helped switch around our time slot to add some friends to our group. Cecil and Tracey were the best tour guides! They spoke about the area, the horses, and they are really kind people. We also got to try some different fruits from the area! The van ride down into the valley was very exciting! All in our group enjoyed themselves. This is a great activity to do with a big group because they take 12 out at a time. They also take pictures of your group which is very nice. Don't bring anything with you except maybe your phone, and spray yourself with bug spray before you go. The total trip was about 4 hours, about 1 hour of riding time. I will do this every time I visit, it was a unique experience and the area was stunning! Mahalo to my ride, Nitro, Waipi'o on Horseback, and our tour guides, Cecil and Tracey!!…

Had a great time! What an incredible place with stunning scenery and rich cultural history. Our guides were very friendly and clearly have a passion for what they do. Would have liked to have heard more of their stories and history about the valley, but found it often difficult to hear them especially if I was at the back of the pack. Also would have liked a ride that was more of a loop but obviously the options are limited in such a remote area. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.…

Starts with exciting ride to bottom of valley that you don't want to do in a rental car (or at all). Lea our guide was lots of fun and knowledgeable. Maco my horse was also great!

The guides were wonderful, the scenery was beautiful and being on a horse is always fun. But this is very much an out and back trail with the horses lined up butt to nose. If you have never been on a horse, have younger children or are nervous around horses this is great, otherwise I would just recommend hiking down and enjoying the valley on your own!…

Cecil and wife Tracy were excellent hosts! Met at their farm, innumerable fresh fruits growing all around, fresh perfectly ripe bananas on bunch for breakfast. Van ride by Tracy as Cecil ran down the 900’ drop on foot (I’ve never seen a stronger joy of life). Horses were happy to carry us, easily managed. Crossed multiple streams, viewing multiple waterfalls (1246’ high enough?). Taro farming remains primary occupation in the Kings Valley, felt blessed to be there! New appreciation for living off the land. Wild horses in the valley need support - help Cecil and Tracy with business and contributors!…
