Kealakekua Bay is known to have some of the best snorkeling locations in Hawaii. Board a trimaran and head out into the bay on this convenient excursion that includes snacks, bottled water, snorkel and safety gear, and reef-safe sunscreen. Throughout the tour, your captain and crew provide little-known facts about the area’s history marine life, as well as snorkeling tips for guests with any level of experience.

A great opportunity to explore the longest and deepest lava tube in the world. Harry is very informative and is obviously passionate about the tubes. You need to be reasonably mobile to get through this,(we are mid 50’s and mobile) and there are a couple of moments if you are Afraid of heights, mostly around climbing or descending ladders, which are well made and solid. Iam not sure about the safety processes and what would happen if someone fell or had a medical issue whilst down there. but thankfully that wasn’t an issue for us. Overall the 2 hour trip was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience something unique in the world. It was well put together and had plenty of interesting things to show us as we went through about 1km of the lava tubes. I’m 6’3 and there was plenty of height in most of the areas, and the helmet comes in handy where it is a bit low. We are really glad we did it and would recommend it for people who are visiting Hawaii island.

Kazumura cave and our guide Harry was amazing. I was very interested in geology and chemistry back in the high school days, but the knowledge fell out as I chose a different major later. Harry was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. He went out of his ways to explain to me about the formulations of the lava cave, which really was informative and I felt so intrigued that myself and my husband went back the second day to purchase his book "Understanding the Lava Caves". We did the "Pitroom" tour - the 3-4 hour, medium-difficulty one. We were able to cover most of the geological formations of lavacicles, benches, biological features, canyons, etc. I had to be honest and confess that at first I didn't expect to learn so much and "feel so much interest for the lava caves" - I was expecting something mildly interesting and moderately intense, and through a tourist book "Big Island Revealed" we found this caving tour. However the whole experience absolutely blew my mind about "how much knowledge and excitement you can get by observing a lava tube with an experienced professional". Indeed Harry reminded me of my favorite high school teacher! I would definitely go back again and do the "Maze" tour, once my husband's injuries heal (he had an injury prior to our trip and could not do the climbing that's required for the Maze trip).

The 2 hour Lava Falls tour included some of the most stunning passageways and beautiful multible-level raod-like tubes. The cave is the perfect cool temperature and has a great variety of strange cave things to see. Harry the guide, presents mental images of how the fast-moving lava must have looked like long ago. He explains how cooling lava created unusal formations. I liked the stimulating geological questions that were asked, so that visitors could figure out mysteries of the formations. There are crafted steps and ladders throughout the tunnels, which feels adventuresome. The ceilings are high, so that you don't have to walk low, or be in cramped spaces. Thank you Harry for the amazing caving experience!

My wife and I went in for the Pit Room (four hour duration) tour of the Kazumura Caves and were intrigued by the majestic lava tube. On the way to the Pit Room (approximately three hours of the tour), you get a ton of information from Harry, the tour guide. There are a lot of new words to learn and much to take in for someone not used to seeing these types of wonders. For two people in our mid-thirties, walking through the caves, up/down a few ladders, and over some broken rocks at times was not too difficult. I'm a bit claustrophobic but didn't feel uneasy at any given time during the four hours. Definitely worth the trip!

An unique underground experience that was otherworldly. Slot canyons, rock and lava formations that stopped you in your tracks as you marveled at natures creation. Harry was a wealth of information on what you were seeing.
