Only people who have seen molten lava will have this etched on their memories forever. Hot, the heat is incredible and the colour; there is no colour like it, orange then whites and red and black, just WOW. The noise of Lava as well was...More

Boy was my perception of lava wrong. So entranced to have Dreu, our driver of Wasabi tours, explain Hawaii's volcanos, show us the different types of volcanos and lava. Drove and stopped in several lava fields, to see close up and photo opportunities, of course....More

If you do nothing else in Hawaii - do this. I have no words that can adequately describe the power, heat, explosions of steam, red-hot lava straight from a National Geographic documentary. We rented bikes at the end of the road and rode them to...More

When planning the trip we had no idea that the lava would be flowing. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me. There is a four mile hike or bike ride to the start of a short rugged trail to the viewing area....More

Only place in the state to see an active volcano building more island layer by layer. You must go to see this natural phenomenon, you will not be disappointed. Remember to see the lava after sunset to see the magnificent glow of Pele's cauldron.
