We made a special journey to the Falls only to find it was closed for renovations. What we could see of the Falls was wonderful with the river fast flowing through the gorge. Would go again if in this area.

Unfortunately, during our visit, the Falls were closed. There were several other spectators trying to do the same thing we were...get close enough for a photo...but it was no use. It was just too dangerous to attempt!!!

The Shell Falls are a nice stop along US 14. Restrooms are clean and the falls are only a short walk from the parking area.

Back in the late 90's before Trip Advisor, we came upon this Forest Service offering. Didn't even know it was there! It's a great place to stop & use the bathroom. Of course they have a gift shop & the falls are beautiful! There's a...More

We haven't had snow since last month. I think the storm you're referring to was south; Laramie/Cheyenne area.
