Gorgeous forest and mountains with lots of opportunity for hiking and especially snow snowmobiling. The drive down route 16 and 14 are beautiful, do both if you have the opportunity, otherwise the one out of Buffalo is much prettier.

We liked driving through the Bighorn National Park, pretty scenery, canyons and winding roads that were very steep. Driving our way from Rapid City to Cody, we stopped off at the pretty Shell falls took some photos and used the facilities port a potty.
So glad we didn’t choose the quick route from Gillette to Cody, instead taking the beautiful Bighorn Scenic Highway drive.
