Pros Nice hill with decent runs; blues and greens really skiable by advanced beginners on up; Snowboarders will like terrain parks etc Food on hill -- cant bring in anything -- was good though definitely had trouble keeping up with demand at times/not enough employees Negatives all based on safety Going back to not enough employees -- saw several instances... Lunch consisted of Brats on pretzel roll, fried cheese curds and a cheeseburger. A little over priced, but good. A beer draft of new glarus was 7.00. Expensive.

I can't say enough about Granite Peak...premier skiing mt. in the midwest. The new High Speed Lift on the East side of the MT. is faster than any fast speed lift in the last 5yrs. Great snow conditions had us skiing all night long...we didn't even take a break over 6 hours of skiing...it was just that fun. If you... More

I had been visiting about 5 ski resorts in Wisconsin. We like most the Granite Peak. If you are advanced skier, you will find the fun here. Variety of ski slops, fast ski lift, and inside place to left you baggage while skiing. Ski slopes well groomed. Easy access to mountain.

For a day trip, this is an excellent hill to have a lot of fun on. Nice variety of run ranging for all skill levels. Definitely would go back for another day trip. High speed lifts are a huge bonus making the experience that much better. Lift tickets were a little pricey for the weekend. However, I heard during the... More

Granite Peak offers many specials all week. We went on a Saturday night for the nightly special. What was nice is that my 5 year old was free. My wife, who was trying to teach him how to snowboard was free. So we only had to pay for my older son and I. The place is big. There are a... More

We've been skiing at Granitepeak for the past 5 years or so. We've always had a terrific time and the high speed lifts make the experience tons better. They continue to improve year after year and apparently there are plans to really make this a Midwest destination. This last trip I really noticed how hard my pocket book was hit.... More

Had good snow since it has just snowed I've 15 inches. This is not normal for Wausau. We have come here another time and it was very icy. For a day pass for an adult it is $100 now. So much better in quality and price 2 hours North.

Granite Peak is easy to get to (about a mile off the interstate) and reasonably priced. They often have 2 for 1 specials, or discounts after 4 pm.
