Whitefish Dunes is a great place to spend some time when in Door County. There are plenty of great hiking trails and you can't beat it for a peaceful walk along the sandy shoreline. There are literally miles of sandy beach shoreline to walk.

We started taking our kids to whitefish dunes when they were little. This was the best beach around. And is huge! There's plenty of space to lay a blanket without feeling like you are on top of someone else. The park offered children's activities on the weekends which I've never experienced anywhere else. Several years ago we bought a house... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our trip here! We did not visit the beach, but we hiked some of the trails instead. We stopped at the nature center and watched a short video that gave some history on the park. If you are new to visiting this park, I recommend watching the video. The history was very interesting! There... More

We went on a pleasant day in June 2016 and really enjoyed this remote and beautiful park on Lake Michigan. The lake was calm that day and the beach had very few people, so it was a great experience on a really nice littlte beach. There are some nice areas to hike (including down the shorline) but we went for... More

Walked for miles here last weekend on wide flat beach ah! - if you've been here in the past few years and are used to a narrow steep beach, then grass - come back! Not sure why but the beach from year's ago is back!

Most disappointed I have been of any state park...anywhere! No roadways to travel through park. A long walk to beach and Mother Nature deposited a boat load of sea weed along the shore.

I have been to white fish dunes several time & am happier & more relaxed every time I go! The park is nicely marked & the view is breath taking. The beach is long & easily accessible is 2 spots (that I know of haven't used any others yet) & there is a spot called old baldy that is a... More

We hiked up to old baldy didn't like it the second picture is old baldy don't waste your time on that. If you take the red trail to old baldy you will find a beach that you can take your dogs to they have a separate beach for your animals which I found really nice. Yes this place has sand... More
