The Historic Third Ward is a cool, well preserved old American commercial district, like those we see in the early to mid 1900s movies....Its like walking back through time, with impressive buildings, beautiful window decorations and displays, and amazingly nice people...A must see when in...More

We have the ‘luxury’ of living about 30 minutes south of Milwaukee with easy transit to the Historic Third Ward. During the summer we go early and get our walk in along the River Walk before the crowds descend. There are a variety of food...More

Venturing about on the downtown southeast side of Milwaukee can be very interesting and fascinating here. The architectural views are impressive and unusual shops, businesses as well as the nearby river and bridges make this a wonderful pleasure. The Public Market is a must and...More

Lived in this area 33 years ago, used to be a warehouse slum, absolutely amazing how well it's cleaned up and still retained it's charm. Finding the food market was wonderful. The stores we found a bit pricey.

I really enjoyed this part of Milwaukee. I enjoy architecture, seeing the old and the new buildings. There's a lot of cute cafes and cool stores to browse in. Even walking in the sunset and after dark, I still felt safe in the quiet streets.

This is a nice, hip, trendy part of downtown Milwaukee. It's not a big area but it has some nice restaurants, shops, businesses and housing. We didn't have any problem parking but then the weather was not great when we came here. I can imagine...More

Downtown Milwaukee is really cool, fun and safe, but I really love the third ward. Everything is walkable, so many shops like the Milwaukee Home Store, Milwaukee Public Market and tons of bars and restaurants.

I would go to the art museum and eat there. Pretty lake views even if art isn't your thing. And there are a couple of places to eat there that have good quality food.
