This is how the old theaters used to be. Chairs you sink down into, etc. It shows indi and art films mostly, but the occasional Hollywood film too. You can buy beer there and drink it during the movie, which is a plus. Never been...More

We've been going to the Oriental for years. Now that we have a puppy again and I'm working part-time we set up date day Fridays when the puppy is in doggy day care. We usually see a movie when weather is inclement and almost always...More

This is the most fun place to go see Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnite on a Saturday. Lots of great costumes and plenty of interaction with the audience. Be prepared, you have to like to have fun!

small art house theater, but nice seats, good projection. Saw a current Hollywood movie in one theater while a film festival was happening in the other. Great popcorn too.

This is one of the golden age theaters. You can visit for the interior decoration alone (but you have to buy a movie ticket to get in). The exterior is ordinary brick and sits in a block of other buildings in a busy east side...More

Now it is a three screen movie theater. But it does show excellent first run movies and if you are in the middle theater, you can see some vestiges of its glory days.

We like the Oriental for its foreign and independent films. Whenever we have out of town visitors to Milwaukee, we take them to a show at the main hall of the Oriental, which is a welcome alternative to multiplexes. Take time before the show to...More

A great place to see not so wide spread movies in Milwaukee. My husband and I always go--and love the movie selection and the ambiance. Perfect.

This theater always has the best independent films and just those uncommon flicks that are a must see. Great foreign films. Certainly a throwback in time but that is part of the experience. Building is certainly aged but has the right to be.
