I took my nephews to visit--they enjoyed the visit and have a very high level of respect for this place.

The museum is very nice, a lot bigger than you expect. I like that the exhibits change every so often. They have an area where you can sit looking at the lake and have a glass of wine. I also attended a wedding at the War Memorial and thought its one of the prettiest places in Milwaukee to have a... More

Eternal flame, floor with war dates, locations and reminders for all to contemplate. Outside the huge water-saving gardens invite thoughtfulness as do numerous benches from which Lake Michigan is seen. It is free!

The War Memorial Center is a nice building in a great spot. The upstairs ballroom is ornate, has nice lighting, and works great for events. The large patio overlooks Lake Michigan. The building is elevated and wraps around a courtyard. The interior is filled with various paintings and memorabilia.

This is an amazing place from two stand points: historical and architectural. It is one of Aaron Saarinen's master pieces (he was also the designer of the Gateway Arch in Saint Louis, MO). Highly recommend this place for anyone that visits the city. The building shares some parts of the Milwaukee Arts Museum.

The War Memorial is undergoing a ton of updates to improve their center. From external to internal, the updates just keep coming. If you haven't been in awhile, stop in! It's worth the drive. The lot is reasonably priced as well-just know that you have to have cash to park.

The War Memorial Center has been a landmark in MKE for over 55 years. My high school was one of the first one to have the Prom there. The meeting rooms are big and clean. Memorial services are held during the major holidays. A must visit when in MKE.

A stunning place for quiet reflection about our country's past, including a piece of an I beam that is a stark reminder of 9/11. Designed by architect Eero Saarinen, on property right next to the Art Museum.

We basically just peeked in and walked around outside looking at the memorials and the beautiful views of the lake. We would have liked to spend more time looking around, but we were on our way to the air and water show on Bradford Beach and really didn't have the time that day. Worth a peek if you are in...
