Known for its architecture the collection is quite good, especially its collection of contemporary works. You will be very impressed with the space, but take time to step back, especially as some of the works are quite large. Very impressive view of the lake, too! We enjoyed their small but wonderful restaurant for lunch!!!

First time back here in about six years. Funny how you live within fifteen miles and don't visit that often. I personally enjoyed the furniture pieces. Specifically wanted to watch the wings open as have never seen that. It did not disappoint. Then a leisurely lunch in the cafe. Wonderful day.

My wife and I visited the museum for the architectural presentation of the building and for a special exhibit of Haunted Screens. The exhibit showed the German Cinema in the 1920's. The show was laid out well, organized, and very entertaining as well as educational. We learned a lot about the topic but also about the era. Great job Milwaukee... More

This museum has a very nice collection of art from medieval to present times. However, the descriptions of the pieces lack important art history information and basically tell you who donated the item along and when it dates from. We did not use the audio tour which perhaps makes up for the paucity of description. But it would have been... More

You can spend hours here both inside and out. It's a super structure and the exhibits inside are varied with something for all tastes. A small cafe was open when I went. This art museum can compete with SF MOMA - it really is good.

I'm a fan of museums and except for the Hermitage in Russia, I have visited most of them! I love this building and the park like setting, beautiful scenery surrounding it along Lake Michigan. The inside collection was so-so. They have a few pieces of Georgia O'Keefe, Picasso, Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol (Campbell soup painting) etc. I toured the inside... More

Fabulous architecture, lovely lake views, awesome restaurant! I've lived in the area for years but hadn't visited the art museum until it was requested by visiting family (from out of state) for a ladies day out. I was surprised at how easy it was to drive there, park, and get away again...even in rush hour! The art collection was modest,... More

Its simple if your in Milwaukee you have to stop here. Don't be foolish, make the trip. It is incredible. the view is second to none. A beautiful building with an amazing backdrop (LAKE MICHIGAN). Why not make a date of it and go to dinner first at harbor house right behind the museum. If its summer time walk right... More

This is truly one of the best museums in the world. The exhibits are well done and the architecture is wonderful. Conveniently located and a must-see if visiting Milwaukee.
