It was a bit of a cloudy/drizzly fall day when we took our hike, but it was still beautiful. The views were perhaps not as clear/vibrant, but the grey sky/mist had its own beauty. We love to hike, and this was a pretty satisfying hike...More

I used to visit this view point as a University student to cool off on summer nights. The park was closed after some accidents, so am glad it was reopened with easy hike to view points. Be prepared for mosquitoes.

It is truly a walk in the woods. Beautiful view of the valley below once you get to the top. Excellent option if you have 1.5-2 hours to fill in the afternoon. If you have kids, you can combine it with the Merrimac ferry trip,...More

Hiking trails are well marked and easy to follow. The view from the top is nice, probably even better for those who go out to the edge of the rocks.

This was a first hike for my boyfriend, and it was perfect for a casual yet picturesque walk. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the top. We saw families with young children and older couples along the way at 10:30AM. The view from...More

I proposed to my Fiance on the cliff! This is not a challenging hike to the top, took about half and hour or less. The sights from the top are awesome, you can get out on the cliff and really take the sight in.

The driveway is blacktop but the small parking lot is dirt and mud. Only fits about six or seven cars. The main trail up to the top is somewhat blacktopped. But the strain and view isn't really worth it. Overlooks farms. Boring. The views through...More

Starved rock gives you more choices of trails but it is also more crowded. Gibraltar rock is essentially one trail up the hill. The views are magnificent from both places.
