Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Super cute small museum perfect for kids. Don’t forget to hit the lab downstairs. While free it’s cool to bring a couple bucks to donate and 51 cents to get your souvenir penny.

Such awesome little museum with really awesome display of Tyrannosaurus Rex & other different dinosaur skeleton. I visiting this museum and seeing skeletons of dinosaurs was an awesome way celebrating 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park.

Small museum, it has dinosaurs on the first floor and an interactive area on the bottom floor. Very nice area where kids can uncover bones, reads books about dinosaurs , put together a puzzle and play with dinosaurs. My grandson loved it. Has a small gift shop. It is free, with a free will offering.

Not recommended. Just one room of dinosaur fossils. That's it.

Positives:
1) Donation-based entry.
2) Friendly lady at the front entrace.

Negatives:
1) It is just ONE room with dinosaur fossil exhibit. That's it.

-There is also the gift shop.
-In the basement, there is supposed to be an kids' interactive area but nothing was down there when we came by 6/25/2021.
-In the basement, you can look through a glass window to see paleontologists assemble dinosaur bones but no one was there the day we went.

I would recommend you go to the KENOSHA, WI PUBLIC MUSEUM instead or the ROCKFORD, IL BURPEE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY.

2) Bathrooms have no changing tables.

My kids really liked this place. Only takes about 10-15 to walk through but super nice staff and my kids loved it. Dinosaurs and dig area were really neat.

Ok, so my teenage daughter and I went here just because I spotted one of the wonderful statues in the front. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was blown away. Yes, they are on the smaller side but their use of space is wonderful and the displays are expertly done. The exhibits have motion sensors that trigger speech about the display in the main room and the halls are lined with tidbits. Head downstairs whether you have smaller children or not because the lab is down there along with the play area (IN THE SAME SPACE!) so adults can check out the lab and toddlers can play. The gift shop was also truly surprising as the clerk was NOT pushy and for as nice as they were may have been Canadian. The prices were reasonable and proceeds went to the museum, which is a part of the Smithsonian Institute! I cannot recommend this spot enough!

Wow! Thanks for your review, and the wonderful recap of your visit! We love to hear our visitors experience everything our Museum has to offer. We may be small, but we like to think we use the space we have in the best way possible. We also appreciate you taking a cruise through our Gift Shop. You're absolutely right - all proceeds from our shops directly benefit our Museum, and you won't find a better selection of scientifically accurate toy dinosaurs around. We hope to see you again sometime!

The museum is small, but it was never advertised as being large. The main hall had replicated fossils and dinosaur sounds to match. It was a really neat exhibit in the main area, they did a great job planning for their space.
There were several small exhibits for the kids. My son's favorite was the fossil dig.
Don't forget to hit up the basement, it's a larger space for reading books, drawing, playing with toy dinosaurs and the coolest part for me were the individual fossil showcases downstairs. We went on a weekend so we missed the Carthage archeology students working on fossils and casts.
Entrance is free, they ask for donations.
Hit up the gift shop before you leave, they have some great dinosaur items.

Smaller dino museum, but was still a lot of fun.

Basement is a kids' zone, first floor has lots of dinosaur skeletons.

Definitely park over at the Civil War/Public Museum and take the streetcar as there isn't much parking around the dino museum.

Thank you for visiting our Museum! We agree that the streetcar is by far the best way to travel here, not only because it lets you take advantage of stopping at all three of our Museums and other downtown hotspots, but also because Kenosha's electric streetcar system is one of only a handful still in operation in the United States. Taking a 15-minute ride around the loop is a great way to compliment an afternoon visit with our dinosaurs! Come again soon!

Loved the display of various types of dinosaurs the museum had, and particularly appreciated the exhibit cards calling out where you would natively find each dinosaur (Note: no fossils have been found in Wisconsin to date!). I think my favorite display was that of Deinocheirus, native to Mongolia. They only had the arms but they dwarfed practically every other dinosaur skeleton on display with just that alone! There’s a small section that is great for kids where they can pretend they are digging and unearthing dinosaur fossils. There’s a small parking lot as well as ample street parking. The whole place is free to enter but please support the museum with a donation.

I hadn't been there in years, and forgot how much fun it was for kids. I brought friends and their kids, ages 5 and 8. They had a blast! The adults even had fun and learned something too. Everyone left with smiles. And the cost is almost nothing - I think they ask for a small donation. Definitely a great way to spend a couple hours w
