This is a great Wisconsin bike trail. We started in Cornell and first bikes through the Brunet State park. It's a beautiful ride through the park. We then went back to the start of the trail and ended up biking 19 miles. The weather was...More

The old abe trail has convenient access from Chippewa Falls, Jim Falls, Cornell, Burnett Island or Lake Wissota State Parks and soon the connections to Eau Claire and Menomonie will be much less scary. The route is an old railroad right of way for most...More

I've biked this trail several times over the years. Recently, the trail surface has been resurfaced and you no longer have those pesky holes. Relatively flat, your only battle is going to be the occasional breeze/wind, depending on the day. There is a small parking...More

I bike several times a week on the Old Abe Trail. It is well maintained and very relaxing to spend time on the trails. I also like to walk my dogs on these trails, people are respectful of the environment.

Started trail in Jim Falls. Going north on the trail more remote, LOTS of trees. Going south Trees on one side , farms on the other side, LOTS of different birds make it interesting. Smooth and flat , an easy ride.

We enjoyed a short ride north from the Anson trailhead. Beautiful lakes along the way. Very flat trail with a nice smooth paved surface. Wish we had more time to explore more.

Very good paved trail on an old rail grade. Takes you through farm fields and woods with spectacular views along the Chippewa River. An easy trail to bike for beginners and folks of all ages. The best time is in fall with the leaf colors.

The trail is very nicely maintained. Good parking at the intersection of S and O just north of Chippewa Falls. The trail is very flat and has wonderful views. I suggest stopping at Dylan's Dairy in Cornell.
