We spent two great days exploring Gubbio, Perugia and Assisi with Danilo Mariucci. He provided lots of interesting background information and historical references at just the appropriate level of detail. We appreciated the opportunity to visit local stores and to sample the local specialties such as charcuterie from Gubbio and chocolate from Perugia. It was obvious to us that Danilo is passionate about the Umbria region and is delighted to share his knowledge with guests. We recommend Danilo highly for tours.

My husband and I were on an amazing cycle tour and part of the tour was a stop at GORETTI VINEYARD & WINERY for wine tasting. Inside the Winery were gift boxes of wines so we decided to purchase 4 gift boxes of wines for our children as Christmas presents as they looked lovely and it was something different. Well this was the start of a disaster. GORETTI WINES have no idea and should not be selling and transporting wines outside Italy. We initial spent 600 Euro - which is a lot to start with but thought it was a special once off thing to buy. However GORETTI WINES did not get transportation costs correctly so requested a further 280 Euro. We paid more money and received less wine and STILL did not receive our Order in full. We also had to pay a further AUST$460.00 (270 Euro) to even get the wines without wooden display boxes. GORETTI WINES have still to this day not reimbursed us for NOT receiving what we ordered - and still should deliver outstanding wines. They are disgraceful and the wine is only just average anyway - they probably did not even send what we asked for in the first place and gave us some rubbish left over. I WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE GORETTI VINEYARD A MISS. Lynn Cole - Australia

Although we had visited Gubbio before we decided to come again in order to try some new experiences. Our walk around Gubbio, guided by Danilo gave us an insight into the town, the people and the history. The cooking class and wine tasting was fun and we ordered some wine to be sent back to England. We also looked around the medieval castle. The highlight of our visit was truffle hunting with Roberto and his dog Keira, who found both black and white truffles. It was a wonderful opportunity to get off the beaten track and walk in the beautiful countryside. We then returned to Gubbio and ate the truffles we found, expertly cooked for us in La Cantina restaurant. Later that afternoon we went horse riding and enjoyed the peace and beauty of the countryside. The horses were happy and well behaved. Throughout our activities we were accompanied by Danilo who gave very necessary translation services and full benefit of his experience and knowledge. We highly recommend using Umbria Goretti.

My husband, children and I recently enjoyed an excellent tour of Gubbio, guided by the excellent Danilo. We were taken to a terrific restaurant where they prepared the truffles we'd brought from a hunt that morning and we ate them for lunch - delicious! After that, Danilo showed us round the ancient, beautiful and fascinating town of Gubbio. He was really thoughtful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and it made our trip so much more interesting being shown around by someone so experienced. We all loved the trip and would heartily recommend Danilo as a guide. Many thanks!

We spent a few days in Gubbio and our hotel recommended some tours with Danilo. We started our rainy day with a truffle hunt on the grounds of an old, beautiful castle. Danilo was so very accommodating. We met our truffle guide and his adorable dog named Stella. We trekked through the hills and found numerous truffles. Danilo was always there to hold on as we slipped and slides through the mud. We laughed and enjoyed this amazing experience. Later that day after we had cleaned up, Danilo picked us up and we ventured off to the most beautiful winery, also an old castle (Goretti). Everyone was so friend,y and warm. We were able to enjoy the truffles we had found with many glasses of wonderful wine, good cheeses, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and honey. And we ended the night with Grappa and a lot of love from this amazing family. This day was the best day of our 10 day trip to Italy. Danilo and his family at the winery will always have a place in our hearts. We are excited to receive our case of wine and goodies when we return home. Thank you Danilo!
