We were not able to kayak the Cheat because the river was quite low during our trip. We had booked through the website and Patrick with Blackwater Outdoor Adventures confirmed our trip, letting us know he would still take us out on the river but that the water was low and we would likely need to pick up and carry... Fantastic place to have a relaxing paddle on the Cheat River. The staff at Blackwater Outdoor Adventures is just super! Everything is well organized and operated, and the equipment is in top condition. Very good value for the money.

Great job - on time, no delays and no surprises. As of today, if you are renting a cooler tube, you'll need to supply your own ice.

Took my best friend here on our bachelorette road trip party ...3 of us girls floating down the river, having some drinks and listening to music--it was so fun! I recommend getting a cooler tube, tying all the tubes together, bringing a water proof speaker and music...and you just float down the river. One of the best parts of our... More

Took our family up there tubing on the Cheat River. Great price that included tube, pfd, and transportation. The kids had a blast, as did the grandparents. Only negative would be that there's only 2 Rapids, so you'd have to get out and walk or paddle with your arms more than on other rivers (like the Greenbrier). All in all... More

My husband and I enjoyed our entire day from start to finish. BOA was organized, displayed genuine kindness and helped make our adventure memorable. I will be sharing this company with my friends and family for future excursions.

We had a great time with the staff at Blackwater. They ended up needing to reschedule our trip for a lack of rain and they were incredibly kind and communicative on the phone. Our trip down the river was awesome, as was our guide. Overall, 10/10. Thanks!

Highly recommend any water activity with BOA. Went on the river for the first time with my six year old, so we did tubing. He loved exploring the river as we made a lazy way down the river. Everyone with BOA nice and helpful.

My husband and I used Blackwater Outdoors for the 8 mile canoe trip. We were driven out to the 8 mile point on the Cheat River, given some pointers and then we were on our way. The trip took about 4 hours in total. The river does get very low in several places (think ankle deep), so you will have... More
