I found it to be a great place to hear prison history, and spooky atmosphere. Tour guide was great and defiantly knew his history, as well as the woman working along with him who was very pleasant.

The tour in itself for the overnight stay is truly great. Our tour guide Ryan is a great guide and you can tell he’s really into the history and haunting of the establishment. When allowed to roam freely please wear sneakers, appropriate clothes and bring...More

A 90 minute tour started the whole thing out and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Learned a lot about the history of the place. We then 4 hours to explore the prison at night. Quite thrilling, scary, and revealing. It gives you an appreciation...More

The Penitentiary is located adjacent to the famous Native American burial mound site, making this an interesting day trip destination. We also visited the New Vrindaban Hare Krishna community nearby. The penitentiary tour is a sobering reminder of how brutal American prisons once were. Our...More

We went on the regular tour. Chuck was our guide. We liked his insight. It was such an interesting, different thing to do. We were amazed with the building and the history of the prison. Highly recommend.

We had a great time! Very knowledgeable tour guides; there were only 16 people overall on our tour from 10:30PM to 4AM so we were really able to spread out and felt like we had the building to ourselves! Definitely a creepy location with some...More

I wasn't aware that they allowed pets but I could see a dog moving along this tour well. I do not think we walked on stairs nor did we go into small spaces (except for the cells if we wanted to).
