My wife & I are rails to trails people. We like to get out of the rat race & enjoy solitude & a nice view. The Greenbrier River Trail did not disappoint. We rode on a Sunday & the trail was deserted...maybe 5 bikers in...More

We once drove 5 hours just to ride a portion of this trail. We liked it so much that we are returning this weekend. Thanks to the Watoga Bridge, and the Sharp's bridge & tunnel, there is the opportunity to ride on both sides of...More

I am not an avid cyclist. I use a bicycle to get up close and see things that I would not normally see in a car and to cover more area than a walk. So please keep that in mind as you read. I am...More

We biked on this trail 3 different times while camping at Watoga Riverside, saw less very few people on the trail. The tunnels were interesting, very dark in some spots we didn't have headlights which made for a fun ride. Between mile 32 and 33...More

My wife and I just completed the Greenbrier river trail. The ride was great. There were not many people on the trail, it was so relaxing. The forest was lush and so green in color, and the river that we followed kept you mesmerized. We...More

Rail-trails can be pretty monotonous, but that's up to you on what you want you want to get out of it. Otherwise, the Greenbriar River Trial is a very pretty ride, with the very gentle Greenbriar River (not always gentle as attested to by several...More

Nice for biking. Marlinton is a 12 mile bike from the mouth at Seebert (right outside Watoga's riverside entrance). Part of the trail can be bumpy, so be sure your bike seat is well padded! Lots of nice spots by the river to stop and...More

Nice trail with very minimal grade. It offers nice views of the Greenbrier river. Great for the very young, very old, and ultra fit as well.

Your Best option is to stay in Marlinton. Not a lot of options along the way. Cass is a nice place at the upper end of the trail. Not sure about hotels but they have a nice scenic railroad you can ride .
