This attractive museum recounts the history of the state in a series of nicely laid out rooms joined by a path that leads the visitor chronologically from 4,000,000 BCE almost to the present.

Its a great place to spend a few hours, its even free. The displays do not change much. It has a great deal of WV History displayed.

Free attraction that covers the entire history of the state from prehistoric to modern times. We spent about three hours there. Educational and very interesting.

I was very impressed with this Museum. A lot of work went into this place. The gold dome of the Capitol building can be seen as you approach.

There are parking lots located across the street beside the museum, you have to cross the street and walk up to the main entrance. There are also limited parking meters, but I've never been that lucky at an event. I would... More

Yes. The museum reminds me of the kids movie Night at the Museum. It has cool displays and it would be fun to just walk through. Also go over to the capitol next door. Thete is a real stuffed bear.the kids may enjoy... More

According to the museum's website: Operating Hours Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays and Mondays Admission to the museum is free. You can find more information about the museum from their website... More
