These locomotives really are working antique relics that offer a glimpse into the past. The experience is unique, the scenery is beautiful and the sounds (while loud, of course) are one of a kind. The steam whistle gives goosebumps and the screech of the wheels...More

This is a breathtaking train ride behind veteran Shay steam locomotives up unbelievable gradients into the high hills above Cass. You can see industrial history and beautiful West Virginia scenery. I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

This was an excellent journey - we chose the longer trip to Bald Knob, and really enjoyed the experience. The train was truly fantastic - a real blast from the past - big, bold, black engine puffing billows of smoke and working really hard to...More

This is my 4th trip to Cass since 1974. This was the 3rd time with our 2 children (now 12 & 17). Just driving there was amazement for my kids, enjoying the scenery. The peacefulness of this small, unique old logging town just seeps through...More

We were on a car that had a restroom. I believe you can choose what car you want to be on, and I chose the one with the rest room. Check out the website for more details.
