Went to Tamarack today for the first time. We have a second home near Beckley but have never stopped at the Tamarack. There are so many unique handmade items! Some items are very pricey but still cool to look at. I was in love with all the bronze statues; just wish I could afford them. Loved all the pottery as... More

We always enjoy stopping at the Tamarack, a showcase of what West Virginia has to offer including folklore, literature, arts and crafts, and fine regional cooking. The morning cook (on duty most days) at the food court is particularly adept at her job. My neighbor and I have both thought that she should have her own cooking show on TV.

While traveling through stopped to take a break. Interesting to walk around prices high. Easy parking and nice place to stretch legs.

Interesting place with lots of variety - books, goodies, art, clothing, etc. The food was delicious, too. Great place to stop if passing through or staying at local hotel.

Tamarack is a nice place to stop. It's a showcase for local artists and products. We enjoyed the shop with many varieties of local honey. Some of the artists have workshops within the building just behind their displays. As for food, the Greenbrier sponsors this and the food was lots better than your typical rest stop food choices. If you're... More

Stopped here on our way to North Carolina and enjoyed seeing the many crafts. We ended up coming out with a few wooden cars/trucks, but could have easily gotten more if our car wasn't already packed for an 11 night adventure.

If you are driving through make sure to take the time to stop and enjoy this unique attraction. All the items in Tamarack have been juried and are uniquely beautiful. You can enjoy just browsing or find some special gifts to take home. This time I enjoyed the display of quilts that were there. Also a special collection of books... More

Tamarack is located at exit 45 off of I64/I77 at the Beckley Travel Plaza. Tamarack features art by WV Artists. It is a very clean facility and has a restaurant run by the Greenbrier Hotel which includes an ice cream stand. I drive frequently from Charleston to Virginia and never fail to stop at Tamarack.

We always stop at Tamarack when driving through the Beckley area. Many beautiful West Virginia works of art are displayed throughout the "store". A great variety of items are available for purchase- from shoes to books, baskets, foods, pottery, quilts, etc. A restaurant and a "Greenbrier" coffee shop is also available with tasty wares.
