Considering the size of the area that the museum has drawn its exhibits from, it's really not too shabby. For a donation, you can get a personalized tour, which includes some interesting stories - such as how a local woman turned her already purple glassware an even deeper, more stunning shade of violet. Fantastic host, really interesting to two English visitors, really enjoyed the mineral collection and the local family connection. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Waterville.

This museum has collections not always seen in small town museums. The exhibits are well put together and clean. Not too busy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Brighter lighting might be helpful in some of the areas. The giant music box/record player was cool and they even played it for us!

She so graciously let us in, gave us a wonderful tour and was so friendly. Definitely a place to stop and get a good overview of the history of this little... More

This was my second visit here, and like last time i spend two hours, and still feel I have only gotten though about 1/3 of the collection. There is an amazing amount of artifacts displayed here, and impeccably displayed. For a person interested ion Douglas County history this place is a treasure trove. In the basement, and easy to miss... More

I really like the arrangement of the museum and how well cared for all the items are. You can tell people take pride in the museum and in the history of the area. Lots of things that are really interesting and the docents do a wonderful job of guiding you through the museum, lots of great stories and very knowledgeable... More
