Historical and fun to watch. That's about it. Best in nice weather. No real parking available. It is on a main highway.

The Dalby Water Wheel is cool, and perfectly appropriate for the walk between AlderBrook and the deli/pub nearby, but it's not something I would recommend as a primary destination, because there's not much to do other than take a couple of photos, read both signs,...More

The water wheel is a great little stop, particularly on the walk to dinner. A good historical sign tells the story, which is quite good (I won't spoil it...) . The building is open on occasion, but not during our stop. A great example of...More

It's a very easy stop on the side of the road between Union and the Alderbrook resort. The wheel was brought from Seattle by the Dalby's in the 1920's and they used it to power their home and several cabins until the 1940's. Worth a...More

This looks cool from the road as your passing through between Alderbrook Resort and Union, and if you want to make a brief stop, it is kind of interesting to watch the old water wheel and read the display info. There is no actual parking...More

The Old Dalby Waterwheel sure brings back childhood memories of my families Hood Canal days. Thank goodness someone had the sense to preserve this piece of Hood Canal history.

Although we read about it on TripAdvisor, we were pleasantly surprised to find it on the side of the road with easy access for picture taking. Very quaint, has a lot of history and makes for a great picture. Don't miss it.

This is pretty much a wide spot on the road, but we were glad we stopped to admire this photogenic water wheel. A deer came out to visit us while we were there. Please note there isn't much parking.

I appreciate the local efforts made to relocate the water wheel and cabin so that visitors can see it.

Located across the street from the Alderbrook, this water wheel has a long and interesting history. I wouldn't travel long distances to see it, but stop by if you're in the area.
